We have the great pleasure of inviting you to the symposium „OpenCARDIO Conference - Acute pulmonary embolism: challenges and perspectives. Ostra Zatorowość płucna: perspektywy i wyzwania - konferencja OpenCARDIO” organized by the Department of Internal Diseases and Cardiology of the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Venous Thromboembolism of the Medical University of Warsaw on November 24-25, 2023 in Warsaw, as part of the "openCARDIO - bank" project "open scientific data on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases" implemented under the Digital Poland Operational Program for 2014-2020.
Since the publication of the last European Society of Cardiology guidelines on pulmonary embolism four years ago, we have seen enormous progress in its diagnosis and treatment. During this time, important European and Polish expert documents were published regarding the interventional treatment of acute pulmonary embolism, balloon angioplasty for thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension and optimal care after embolism. The November symposium will focus on the latest scientific achievements and contemporary challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of acute pulmonary embolism and its consequences.
We are convinced that the symposium, which will bring together European and Polish leaders in research on venous thromboembolism, will be an excellent opportunity not only for lively scientific discussions, but also for establishing further contacts and planning cooperation. The symposium was held under the patronage of His Magnificence the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, prof. Z. Gaciong and the Pulmonary Circulation Section of the Polish Society of Cardiology.
